Chronic Diseases – Assessment Of Their Progression In Chinese Medicine

Program Description

As Chinese medicine is often under the auspice of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), it is common that majority of patients utilizing Chinese medicine come with chronic and serious conditions seeking other viable options in their healthcare.  Ranging from auto-immune to intractable diseases, Chinese medicine can offer traditional and fresh outlooks to these conditions in management and treatment.  Crucial to understanding the prognosis of these illnesses is the assessment of the patients’ progress through Chinese medical diagnostics, especially the use of pulses and tongue.  Through such evaluation, clinicians are able to determine how to adjust and modify their treatments accordingly.  This seminar will examine the nature of chronicity, auto-immunity, and degeneration.  Participants will learn to fine tune their diagnostic tools pertaining to the level of disease progression, possible latencies, and obstruction/blockage to the therapeutic process.  In addition, the nuisances and subtleties of each individual which may sometimes skew the findings and confuse the diagnosis will be addressed.   

Current practitioners will receive thirteen (13) continuing education units (PDA points) for completion of the class. A CEU certificate of completion will be given at the end of the CEU. Attendees must attend both classes in its entirety to receive the certificate.

Attendance for both days is required to receive PDA credits from NCCAOM.
