Very informative and a great resource.

PubMed comprises citations to biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. However, only a portion of the citations are available in full-text through PubMed. If you are interested in obtaining the full-text article of a citation, please contact the Eastern School librarian.

The NCHS is the ultimate source for vital statistics and health statistics. Here you can find statistics on specific diseases; for example, the site has over 2100 documents on heart disease.

PubMed Central (PMC)

The PubMed Central database, a subset of PubMed (see above), is a collection of free full-text journal articles covering biomedicine and life sciences. It is also a depository for peer-reviewed NIH funded research.

National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases

The NIDDK is part of the National Institutes of Health, with a mission of providing funding and doing research on diabetes and digestive and kidney diseases. Nearly one third of its website is on diabetes and its related diseases. The Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR)

National Acupuncture Detoxification Association

A not-for-profit organization providing information on training to become an Acu Detox Specialist, and how to integrate acupuncture protocol into an addictions or behavioral health program.

The NADA Protocol is a non-verbal approach to healing. NADA involves the gentle placement of up to five small, sterilized disposable needles into specific sites on each ear. The recipients sit quietly in a group setting for 30-45 minutes allowing the treatment to take effect. NADA ear acupuncture is an adjunct therapy which is clinically effective, cost-efficient, drug-free and compatible cross-culturally. It can easily be established within behavioral health, addictions or disaster relief settings or in any location that a group of people can sit together.
